Royal Navy chart for the Queen's Annual Review of Navy ships at Spithead, 15th June, 1953.

A very scarce nautical memento — the official chart for the Queen's annual review of the Fleet on her official birthday, showing the position of every ship on parade and the route taken by the Queen in her Royal Yacht, Britannia as well as that of all other ships. 24" x 15" (61cm x 38cm). The chart is dated May 1953, produced by the Admiralty. This is significant in that it was Queen Elizabeth's first Fleet Review. Very good condition with slight creasing at the edges and some foxing on one side (looks far worse in the photos). Comes in the original tube in which it was mailed and stored (though it has been cut down slightly so will be sent in a larger tube).

Very scarce Indian Service uniform button. Bronzed uniform button of the smaller size 5/8" (16mm) for tunic pockets and therefore less common than the larger buttons. These uniforms were worn by  US Army Cavalry Divisions and Police assigned to Indian Reservations between 1850 and 1890. Made by Waterbury Button Co. A very scarce item.

George III Napoleonic / Revolutionary War era "Cartwheel" penny.

Minted only for one year, 1797, the "Cartwheel" penny was designed to eliminate the problem of coin "shaving" which resulted in loss of copper - an expensive commodity in those days. The result was a raised ridge around the edge of the coin, like the rim of a wheel. Measuring 1.5 inches (3.5 cm) across and 1/8-inch (4mm) thick - a pocketful (if you were lucky enough) would weigh you down. I am not a coin grading expert so I will let the pictures tell the story, and please feel free to email with questions. This is a very nice coin with a lot of detail visible.
