RARE RN FAA Type N flying helmet. 1942 issue in large size.
The first flying helmet made exclusively for the Royal Navy—hence the designation Type N (though it is sometimes referred to as Navy ype D). The navy needed capacity for both Gosport receivers and electronic communication at the same time. Future navy versions were simply designated as Type C (or Type D) Naval, so this one is a bit of an anomalie. Helmet is in excellent condition and a large size. Zips work perfectly and it is overall very clean. They were not produced in large quantities and tend to be quite difficult to find these days, especially in such great condition.

RAF Type E* oxygen mask (Sefton reproduction body) with original hose, Type 26 mic. assembly (full external wiring) and receivers.
The rubber mask body is a superb Sefton reproduction - all other components are 100% original, including the harness/straps, correct narrow gauge corrugated rubber tube and clip, and the Type 26 microphone assembly with full external wiring loom, Type 32 receivers and bell plug. A fantastic display item.

WWII US Navy flying gauntlets for an air gunner.
Very good used pair of flying gauntlets as issued to US Navy air gunners in the European theatre. Dark brown leather with fleece lining, designed as mittens with a separate trigger finger. One small nick (1 cm / 0.5") in the right hand thumb. USN in a box stamped on the back of both hands. Curiously, like RAF gloves, not quite a perfect matching pair, but very close, with a very slight colour variation. Both are marked Medium size. Zips in good working order. Super high quality leather and quite a scarce item.

Luftwaffe enlisted/other ranks summer "white top" peaked/visor cap.
A rare find! Slightly "salty" looking Luftwaffe summer weight "white top" service dress cap for an enlisted man. Classic waffle pattern cotton. top is well used and quite grubby – might clean up but that's for the buyer to decide. Black composite peak and leather chin strap show typical surface crazing. Yellow waffenfarbe has a couple of tiny moth nips, but these are concealed by the chin strap. Good aluminium eagle and winged cockade. Failry clean inside and nice sweatshield maker marked to Tiller of Wien (Vienna). The enlisted version of the cap is often more difficult to find than the officers. Lovely, well used example.

AAF oxygen diluter/demand regulator as used in B-17, with mask hose extension.
Complete AAF oxygen diluter/demand regulator with attached extension hose and connector for the individual oxygen mask. These were standard in all USAAF aircraft, fighters and bombers, one at each crew member's station. makes a great display either on its own or when attached to a mask. Not a common find!

Flying log book and flying clothing/kit lists to a US Marine Corps aviator.
Log books to US Marine Corps aircrew are scarce, which makes this paperwork grouping such an interesting find. Named to Lt (MC) V.H. Witten. It appears that Witten accrued many hours as a passenger in numerous aircraft types, including N2S1, N3N1, SNJ4, SNB-1, SNB-2, OS2U-3, PBY-5, PBM-3, R4D-5, SNB-26, PBJ-1, JM-1, SBD-5, SB2C, J2F and more. What makes this even more interesting - especially to collectors of flying kit - are the additional documents contained in an envelope in the back of the book. These are actually receipts for the personal flying clothing and equipment he was issued. These four sheets list, in great detail, his helmets, masks, goggles, jackets etc. Altogether, this is quite a rare and highly useful resource, comprising a scarce USMC flight log book and valuable information about flying clothing issued from 1943 to 1945. Lt. Witten is definitely worthy of research.

Lovely mid-wartime RAF pilot's wing badge, cream silk embroidered wings, cipher and crown with light brown wreath, on a dark blue/black wool background, very heavily padded with an oilcloth backing material.

Luftwaffe aluminium eagle pin for wear on the tropical tunic, by Assman.
Full-size Luftwaffe eagle clutching the broken cross emblem, in aluminium with a pin back. These were specifically for wear on the summer tunic (white or khaki) so they could be removed for laundering. Maker marked to Assman with the raised, stylized "A" logo on the rear.

Lovely collection of 13 (+1 duplicate) 1940s pin-up prints.
Fantastic for decorating your hangar or Nissen hut mock-up! Perhaps tame and innocent by today's standards, but considered glamourous and even risqué in the 1940s, these lovely ladies were found on many a barrack room wall or inside the lid of many airmen's trunk or footlocker. There are 14 altogether, including one duplicate, so a baker's dozen. All in excellent condition and mounted in photo album pages (but easily removed). Each is approximately 5" x 7.5" and are signed by artists Billy DeVorss and Art Frahm.

RAF Pocket Book (AP1081) - 1937.
Indispensable guide book to the RAF. This book was designed to answer any possible question the new recruit or cadet, or long serving member could think of, from everything to do with aircraft and aerodynamics to weather, to erecting a tent and digging a trench, burial, food, medical, legal — you name it, it's in here. Not a rare item but this particular example, dated 1939, is in excellent condition and includes the includes the addendum of Appendix V with up-to-date data charts on the newest aircraft.
